31 year old Corby Town striker Darren Lynch has agreed terms with the Bucks. Gaffer Glen Botterill said ‘ Darren will be a good addition to our squad. I heard last week that he might be available and tried to get him for our Vase game at Whitley Bay, but I’ve got him now.’
Darren is a strong target-man who joined Corby Town in June, 2007 from Rothwell Town, where he was top scorer last season. He began his career with Milton Keynes City, his home-town club, and then honed his goal scoring skills with Arlesey Town, Buckingham Town, Barton Rovers and Newport Pagnell Town. After scoring 18 goals for Newport, in October, 2002 Darren joined Bedford Town and was top scorer with 21 goals in 2002/03. In November, 2003 he followed manager Kevin Wilson to Aylesbury United but in January, 2004 he left the struggling Ducks to join Kettering Town. It initially took Darren some time to find his goal scoring form at Rockingham Road but he scored six goals in the final nine games of 2003/04 and the following season he was the Poppies’ top scorer with fifteen goals. Darren then suffered an injury and after some time on the sidelines he returned to action with Cambridge City and also played for Boreham Wood before joining Rothwell midway through season 06/07
